Family Time

Today was a beautiful, June Sunday. Derek and I went to church while Jeff stayed home with Zach and Ashley. Ashley and Zach weren't feeling well so one of us had to go to teach our class.
Jeff and I were called to teach nursery several months ago and we have some of the cutest kids in our class.
I can actually remember everyone's name now which is quite surprising for me, since I have no memory whatsoever anymore! We usually have anywhere from 7-10 kids each week. When we were first called I was very reluctant to accept the calling because the last place I thought I wanted to be was in nursery. In my head, I thought I needed to be in Relief Society, but now after 3-4 months I really enjoy playing and teaching the kids and I know that this is where I am supposed to be.

After church today we spent some quiet time at home and then headed over to Grandma Allen's house for a BBQ. My step brother Tyrone, who we have not seen in over 10 years is here visiting from Arizona for the next 2 weeks. Jeffs (my stepdad) other children Gary, Lejawn, Tawny, and their families came down from Salt Lake for the BBQ as well. Jeff (my hubbie) and I and the kids, my sisters Lindsey and her husband Spencer, Tiffany and her daughter Josce and my neice Makenzie came too.

My mom made Cafe Rio, pork and chicken and several different things from Cafe Rio. Everyone else contributed a side dish to go with it! It was so good! My mom is such a good cook! Ever since we were little girls that is one thing my mom has always taught us, is how to cook and bake.

The kids really had alot of fun, playing with all the cousins. They really enjoy seeing each other and they don't seem to have any trouble catching up and picking up right where they left off from the last time they saw each other. They went over to the park and played and threw the frisbee around while the adults visited. When it was time to go the kids complained and were reluctant to leave, but overall it was very nice day to spend with family and the ones you love! After all, if you don't have your family for love and support then who do you have?
